Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, was released at the exact same time as Godzilla King of the Monsters. The movie is about an Island called Monster Island where a monster might be discovered.


It's an asylum movie with the budget of a big (read...) kid's dinner. But it uses it wisely. It concentrates on a few human characters while keeping its big stars in a single set so that all their sequences can still be recorded during lunch. The Asylum may not be as bad as it seems considering this is the kaiju style.
